Introducing Taymar Lee

Taymar Lee is a creative, enthusiastic, and talented designer. Creative subjects have always been prominent in her life, becoming particularly drawn to creating whole new environments and worlds within film and television.

Join us as we delve into Taymar’s latest arty endeavour keeping her and friends entertained during ‘lock down’.

Taymar:  “ I’m a very detailed orientated person, I’ve always been fascinated by the intricate features within art. This, combined with my passion for the film and television industry, led me to the weird and wonderful world of set design. Eight months ago I graduated with a First Class Degree in Film and TV Set Design from the University of South Wales. This amazing degree course allowed me to complete work experience placements on various film, tv and event productions. Since earning employed roles with the Art and Prop teams on several television shows including the Netflix’ exclusive ‘Sex Education’ and BBC show ‘His Dark Materials’.

An Unforgettable Three Months

I decided to take a little time away from the industry to travel the world, saving money to backpack around Australia, New Zealand and Bali with old school friends. However, for obvious reasons our trip was cut short. Although we weren’t able to continue our travels, we did spend an unforgettable three months packed full of memories from the East Coast of Australia.

Back Into Lockdown

Two weeks after arriving back in the UK it was my travel buddy’s birthday. As it couldn’t be spent how we’d planned and hoped, I wanted to create a great way for her to remember our trip (and also have something to do whilst in lockdown). Using line drawing techniques, I recreated our favourite travelling photographs in to colouring book pages… and have now done many, many more for others!

Creating Mindful Colouring

I really enjoy the process of drawing them, having a creative outlet during this time is a great way to keep myself mentally ‘on track’. There is also so much joy in seeing the happiness people get from the pages! I hope to use my creative skills in this difficult time and create more for people to enjoy.

This is an important time to uplift one another and get behind our creative industries. As freelance workers, my friends and I really appreciate your support, particularly vital during this stressful time. Thank you.
