After completing her fine art studies in Exeter and Bristol in the mid ‘80s, Caroline moved to Cornwall to embark on her artistic career. She combined this with catering and travel and as a consequence her work is in collections throughout the world. However, the lure of Cornwall proved too strong and Caroline has now settled back into the artistic community of St Ives and has not looked back.
She created her distinctive style with texture and interest using knife and a limited yet vibrant palette, driven by the desire to capture the stunning local environment in paint. She strives to create not just ‘how’ somewhere looks but more how it feels to stand in awe and convey a sense of place, peace and time.
She has a strong eye for composition and colour and strives to express the excitement and emotion of seeing somewhere beautiful for the first time.
Caroline is a well known figure on the Cornish cliffs, highways and byways, with her dog, her camera, her paints and a cheese and tomato sandwich! Everything she needs to help her create much loved paintings of her home County.
