Deborah was born and brought up in Liverpool until the age of fourteen, when her family moved to Cornwall.
Using the amazing light and energy in the landscape around her- the rocky coves, sandy beaches and rugged coastline- rewards the jewellery maker with a special creativity that inspires her silver jewellery designs. She especially loves getting out with her border terrier ‘Poppy’ and embracing the beauty and vitality of the coastline she is surrounded by.
Throughout her life, Debra has followed an artistic path in many different ways, working in floristry, antiques, watercolour and horticulture. She later trained in silversmithing at Morrab Art School, where she developed and honed her techniques as a silversmith. From here, she has expanded upon the skills she had learnt, and many of the techniques used in her jewellery today are largely self-taught.
Making each piece of jewellery by hand, Debra takes pride in each individual piece and loves letting her imagination and creativity take over to produce beautiful shapes, textures and patinas. In order to make her jewellery authentically handmade, she also makes all of her earring hooks and clasps.
