Knighton Mill is an artisan ceramics studio located in the beautiful Chalke Valley in southwest England.
Founded in 2015 by Ian Morrison, Knighton Mill continue the traditions of making beautiful British handmade arts and crafts pottery for modern tastes. They first fired the salt kiln in June 2016, and plans are underway to add a wood-fired kiln.
Founder & lead potter, Ian has been making pots for 20 years, studying and working in the USA, China and the UK. Prior to establishing Knighton Mill Pottery, he spent time as a visiting potter at the Leach Pottery in St. Ives, Cornwall. The character of the products at Knighton Mill express those varied experiences, where Ian has drawn on his expertise from years of working within the global ceramics community to create Knighton Mill. He holds a clutch of enviable awards and certifications.
Knighton Mill Pottery produces ceramics for everyday use, which are handmade and high fired.
The hand making process and the nature of the kiln combine to create the distinctive surface and colour of each piece. No two pots are exactly alike, each having its own character, and so colours and finish vary creating a unique character.
In addition to their standard range, Knighton Mill enjoy making bespoke pots. Their projects have included bonsai pots, fountains and birdbaths, chicken feeders and baptismal fonts.
