Mandy Moon is a self-taught textile artist. Having started a foundation course at Cheltenham Art College, she came to realise that she did not enjoy it, and dropped out, preferring to teach herself by continuing to do what she had always done; make things.
She says, “I have always been attracted to pattern and colour and am a bit of a hoarder of fabric. The sensible thing to do is to use it up- hence the patchwork”.
She progressed to rug ragging about twenty years ago for no other reason than to try something new, but soon found herself hooked!
As well as textiles, Mandy creates beautiful mosaics out of bits of pottery, as well as scouring Cornish beaches for pebbles, shells and sea glass.
