Nancy Pickard

Cornwall Contemporary art gallery director, Sarah Brittain, describes Nancy Pickard’s work as “refreshing and original”. Born in Sao Paolo, Brazil and raised in the Channel Islands, Nancy then went on to continue her studies in London and Cardiff. Eventually, she ended up in Cornwall and now lives in Penzance where she works from her own studio and is always happy to welcome visitors.

A painter, artist, jewellery maker, sculptor, ceramicist, Nancy is an artistic extraordinaire, who cannot be categorised. Each of her pieces are unique, and she is able to find the history and landscape of her region to be a great inspiration throughout all of her work.

Nancy believes that there is something special about an individually worked piece of art of jewellery which comes from the time and thought that goes in to it. Her years of experience alongside her technical ability and unique development allows her to create work which is truly authentic and resonant.

Trade Winds Gallery are delighted to be part of the Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) 250 Club. SAS is a marine conservation charity working with communities to protect oceans, waves, beaches and marine life. We are really proud to support the work that they carry out, such as beach clean ups, education and campaigning, and look forward to continuing to be part of the positive change!
